Man Machine

Here it is, the Manly jumper, modeled by a reluctant Scareport. I can't wait to dive into something else. In other news, Luca will be back on Saturday, but I will be at the Chelsea Flower Show all of Friday, so I will post some exciting flower photos soon.

Deeeeeedodeeedoo doo

The finishing of the manly jumper is taking forever. And I spent a lot of time dranking rather than knitting this past weekend, which also means I spent a lot of time recovering rather than knitting... Oh well, Luca's in town on Friday (maybe), and I'm going nerdin' tomorrow. I'm very excited about buying new yarn for my next jumper. What the hell are you doing?

The manly saga is coming to a close...

So I finished all of the main knitting for the Manly jumper, and it has been very exciting. First, I was shorted two balls of the olive green yarn, which I realized after knitting quite a good way into the first sleeve, that I wouldn't have enough yarn to complete the second sleeve. So, I went to Robert Sayle to get some more, but of course they didn't have any of that colour there. So, I had to buy a different colour (the cream was the only one they had that would not clash with the green). Not only that, but I had to buy two different dyelots of the cream colour because they didn't have enough in one dyelot. But I used one dyelot per sleeve so I think it should be okay. I still have to knit the neckband and seam it up, but most of the work is finis.
Also, Scareport and his mom went to Florence on holiday in mid April, and they brought back some fantastic yarn from a great shop there. I think I'm going to use it to make a knock off of this cardigan I really like from anthropologie. I think I will start on it before I start on my tweed project so that it will be ready for the summer... Not that I will probably actually get a chance to wear it.
In other news, Luca is coming to visit on this side of the world, and we will have a knitting school moment. If the weather allows, this might be on a punt. Again, very exciting.
Okay, here are some photos of everything!

Supersoft angora mix from Florence... the red is a ddeper burgundy than it looks here

Lovely italian yarn (green=cotton, whilte and red=cool weird acrylic) from Florence
